Brooklyn used to be known for its brownstone houses and its pizza, but producers like AC Slater (aka Aaron Clevenger) are quickly gaining notoriety for cultivating a heavy bass sound and breathing life into subwoofers worldwide. Raised on 90’s hip-hop and nourished by old skool rave, Slater cultivated his love for music and combined his influences to birth his own style of musical production. Emerging as one of the most notable up and coming electro and heavy bass producers, he was noticed and taken under the wing of fellow Brooklynite label, Trouble & Bass (home to Drop the Lime, Curses, Math Head, Passions).
With a notorious musical family behind him, 10 years behind the decks, and an arsenal of tracks, Slater is set to take on the world. He continues to display his excellent DJing skills from all over Europe to the UK, up to Canada, down to Mexico, back over to Asia, and everywhere in between leaving a trail of pumping adrenaline and wobbly speakers behind him.
His skills have not gone unnoticed as his tracks have had consistent radio play on BBC Radio 1 as well as Kiss 100 in the UK, and have become integral parts to the DJ sets of Moby, Tommie Sunshine, Crookers, the Freestylers, MSTRKRFT, Drop the Lime, and Stanton Warriors, just to name a few. With his first major EP "Jack Got Jacked" released on Palms Out Sounds in September 2008 hitting #1 bestseller position on Juno, Moby calling AC Slater's "Turn the Music Up" remix a perfect song and choosing it as one of the highlights of 2008, and AC being named one of XLR8R Magazine's "Artists to Watch" in 2009, it looks like the world is about to hear a lot more from AC Slater. Work has begun on his first full length artist album to be released later in 2009 on Trouble & Bass Recordings.
