Hailing from South London, Marco Guiliani aka Last Japan has exploded on to the dance scene in the last year. Still studying Music Production at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guilford, the last 12 months have seen the 19 year old grow from knocking up bootlegs in his bedroom to one of the hottest and most in demand remixers in the ever mutating electro scene.
Having burst on to the blogs with the unofficial (but still killer) remixes on Lykee Li, Rapture and Laroux, it wasn’t long before Last Japans original productions began to rock the club and airwaves alike. At the start of 2009, Rock & Rave embassador and BBC Radio1 mullet sporting Kissy Sell Out featured Last Japan as his ‘young blood’, tipping him for stardom in 2009 off the back of his tracks ‘Oi!’ and ‘Reverse This’.

It wasn’t long before the labels came knocking for a slice of Last Japan’s remix magic. The Rework of Crystal Fighters debut single ‘Xtatic Truth’ with killer results for Kitsune opened the flood gates to a steady flow of official remix work. Now with remixes under his belt for Southern Fried records on Diplo & Laidback Luke, Brondinski & Mumdance and Tonka, Last Japan is delivering reworks on the same producers which spawned his love for the electro scene only a few years ago.
With his profile growing with every remix and production it was only a matter of time before the Majors would want a slice of the action. Atlantic, Sony and Universal co funded All Around the World have already enlisted Last Japan to rework their priority artists to give them exposure in the dance arena.
Now working on his debut artist album and his potential cross over single with female rapper Kay Young ‘DJ Saved My Life’ receiving serious interest from several labels, its could be said that this 19 year old kid still at college is close to having ‘the world at his feet’.
Not only a super hot producer but a pretty badboy DJ as well, Last Japan has been djing the club scene more and more over the recent months. Having won The Fat Club’s DJ competition giving him the chance to play along side D.I.M, Miles Dyson and Foamo at The Arches, he is now firmly on promoters radars.
