'I went to see Marlow at the Matter launch night and he really blew me
away. He put together a real tight, flowing set that sounded different to
what anyone is doing right now, not only in Dubstep but dance music in
general. Great artist!' - Caspa
Marlow is by no means a newcomer to Dubstep. His debut release 'The
Rope' back in 2006 on Storming Productions received big support from
some of the scene's major players. This went on to secure him releases
on influential labels including Boka, Hotflush, & Scuba. 'Machine' and
'Butterfish Remix' in particular got massive support from N-Type & Caspa,
and received significant Radio 1 play. This 12" went on to become one of
the best selling Dubstep 12"s of 2007 - Marlow had accomplished a lot in
a very short space of time.
Fast forward to 2009 and Marlow has a very impressive collection of
artist 12"s & remixes under his belt. After having a track featured on
Howie B's Fabric podcast, his music was presented to Southern Fried
Records earning him remix work for artists including Stereo MCs, The Black
Ghosts, and Fatboy Slim's new project 'BPA'. Suddenly Marlow went from
being pigeon-holed as a Dubstep producer, to breaking out and earning
support from influencial DJs such as Adam Freeland, Kissy Sellout, Annie
Mac, Rob Da Bank, Howie B.
Marlow is known for his unique take on Dubstep, and has gradually been
perfecting his own sound and carving his own niche across his three years
worth of 12" releases. Not content with the sparse, half-time usual
approach to the genre, he manages to combine musical elements with
underground bassline sensibilities and the result is a truly fresh sound. His
energetic style and rich pallet of sound textures make his records instantly
recognisable in all four corners of the world.
'Marlow brings a breathe of fresh air to the world of dubstep, his instantly
recognizable production explodes with gritty filth, no one else sounds like
Marlow. Live, Marlow destroys the dance floor every time.' - James
Drummond @ Southern Fried Records
As well as the eagerly awaited release on Boka 'Bandwagon Junglist',
Marlow also has a huge remix of BYOB's 'My Best Shoes' forthcoming on
Skint Records. And not to mention the release on his own imprint 'No
Comply Recordings'. His label will launch mid-November featuring his best
music to date, complete with handmade cover art and individually hand-
numbered. This will be the main output for his high-energy, analogue-rich,
bass music, and the platform to provide all Marlow fans with extremely
collectable product.
'Marlow's star is definitly rising and is certainly one artist to look out for.'
- Caspa
